How Great Entrepreneurs Think

What distinguishes great entrepreneurs? Creativity? Risk tolerance? Desire for achievement? These are all desirable business traits, and we all like to think we use them every day. We certainly could benefit from them in our work. But can they be taught, or are they only shared by the lucky who possess the “entrepreneurial gene?”

Saras Sarasvathy, a professor at the University of Virginia's Darden School of Business, set out to determine how expert entrepreneurs think. What she found is that the entrepreneurial mindset can be taught to business people of all types--managers, CEOs, marketing executives, designers--anyone who would like to develop more agile business skills.  Sarasvathy’s research was the subject of the most popular article ever published by Inc. Magazine, How Great Entrepreneurs Think (Feb. 2011).

Just recently, the research has been distilled into this workshop which we think will be one of the most interesting and valuable business events you attend all year. We’ll get you inside the heads of some of the world’s highly accomplished company builders to understand how they tackle the startup and growth challenges that we are all facing.

In this packed 2-hour session you will learn:

  • The principles which distinguish great entrepreneurs from corporate executives;
  • How to use effectual reasoning to minimize risk by starting with less;
  • Why the best place to start is with who you know and what you have;
  • How to trade detached market research for hands-on business intelligence;
  • How partnerships can shape your business and lead to quicker success;
  • Why competition is irrelevant to young businesses;
This incredible workshop will change the way you think about your business and yourself. It’s a very exclusive opportunity, limited to 30 participants. This will be a hands on, interactive event that will challenge and inspire you to think differently about business problems.
